How do I enter a number in international format?

  • Each country has its own country code.
  • Within each country, there are numbers designated nationwide (national numbers) or to regions (area codes).
  • Some countries require a special prefix number for mobile phones.
    • Insert these between the country code and the area code/national number.
  • Often there is a “0” trunk prefix when dialing within the country
    • The trunk prefix should be eliminated when dialing
      • Notable exception: Italy
